Job summary

Busways is seeking a Panel Beater / Body Builder to join our Ryde Depot. You will assess damage, repair and replace body panels, weld and fabricate as needed, and ensure repairs meet OEM specifications.

We offer extensive training, exposure to Euro 5 & 6 technologies, and opportunities to upgrade licenses. A proactive, safety-conscious team environment is emphasized, with career progression potential.

Qualifications

• Holds MVTC trade qualifications essential.
• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology required.
• Proven experience as a Body Builder/Panel Beater, especially with larger vehicles.
• Experience in service and maintenance of vehicles; training provided to develop these skills.
• Strong knowledge of bus body construction repair techniques including welding and metalworking.

Responsibilities

• Assess damage to bus body panels and structures, providing accurate repair estimates.
• Remove and replace damaged panels, hoods, fenders, and other body components.
• Straighten and repair bent frames to OEM specifications; weld and fabricate as needed.
• Blend/finish repaired areas for painting with a smooth, uniform finish.
• Prepare and clean surfaces prior to paint; file, grind, and sand to restore surface.
• Perform repairs to all vehicle body components, panels, frames and doors.
