Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the production development of an Optical Head Assembly for a next-gen spacecraft. You will own the manufacturing processes from design reviews to full-rate production, coordinating across design, factory operations, and quality teams to ensure performance and reliability.

You will drive capacity expansion, select and qualify capital equipment, and mentor a team of 6–10 engineers, balancing production velocity, quality, and cost.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in discrete manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aerospace engineering.
• Experience with production scaling and process development in aerospace is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes for Optical Head Assembly.
• Serve as primary technical interface to development for factory Design Reviews and escalations.
• Support operations with high problem-solving power during quality containments and production issues.
• Own the capacity increase roadmap, defining capital equipment for rate increases and leading equipment projects.
