Job summary

Melbourne Water Corporation is seeking two experienced Lead Operators (Sewerage Transfer) based at the Brooklyn Pumping Station. You will lead frontline operations across a complex sewerage transfer network, applying HV expertise to improve reliability, safety and service delivery.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement are essential. You will work with HV equipment, pumping systems, and SCADA-driven monitoring, with after-hours availability and on-call roster as part of

Qualifications

• Experience operating transfer/distribution networks or large mechanical/electrical plant.
• Strong HV technical capability and ability to work in HV environments.
• Knowledge of hydraulic relationships, pumping and mechanical processes.
• Competence with IT/SCADA for monitoring, control, data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe operation of sewerage transfer assets and associated infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to field-based teams.
• Monitor asset performance and identify reliability improvements.
• Manage planned and unplanned operational activities including incidents.
• Ensure safety, environmental and operational regulatory compliance.
• Support maintenance, outage planning and asset optimisation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for system resilience.
