Job summary

Melbourne Water seeks two Lead Operators to oversee sewerage transfer assets from the Brooklyn Pumping Station. Lead frontline operations, provide technical guidance, and ensure safety and reliability across a complex network powering essential services for Victorians.

You will coordinate field activities, support HV operations, and contribute to asset performance and continuous improvement while maintaining a strong safety and compliance focus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operations of complex sewerage transfer assets.
• Strong HV background with practical capability in HV environments.
• Knowledge of hydraulic relationships, pumping and mechanical processes.
• Ability to use IT and SCADA for monitoring, control, data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and effective operation of sewerage transfer assets and associated infrastructure.
• Apply HV expertise to improve reliability, safety and service delivery across the network.
• Provide technical leadership and operational guidance to field-based teams.
• Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Manage planned and unplanned operational activities, including incident response.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards.
• Support maintenance, outage planning and asset optimisation programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance and resilience.
