Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Mining Supervisor to lead open pit load and haul operations at Gruyere Gold Mine, FIFO from Perth. You will supervise daily activity, mentor operators, optimise fleet, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across a large-scale operation.

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will drive production targets, coordinate with planning and maintenance teams, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mining Supervisor or similar leadership role in open pit mining.
• Strong knowledge of load and haul production activities.
• Experience leading large mining crews and developing high-performing teams.
• Understanding of mine planning principles and fleet optimisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Proven commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily load and haul activities to meet production targets.
• Lead and mentor a team of operators and contractors, promoting safe work practices.
• Monitor fleet performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with site safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Mine Planning, Drill & Blast, Maintenance and Technical Services teams.
• Manage shift handovers, workforce allocation and operational reporting.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Foster accountability, teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
