Job summary

Chalke Valley Playschool is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Manager to lead daily practice, support staff development and ensure high-quality care and education in a countryside setting.

You will oversee admissions, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance, working closely with parents, staff and external professionals to drive Ofsted readiness and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Be an active member of the team working directly with children.
• Plan and deliver an engaging EYFS curriculum.
• Support children's learning, development and wellbeing, including SEND provision.
• Supervise, mentor and appraise staff.
• Manage staffing, training compliance and operational routines.
• Oversee children's records, assessments and two-year progress checks.
• Build positive relationships with parents and external professionals.
• Coordinate admissions, new starters and school transitions.
• Ensure high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support Ofsted readiness and continuous improvement.
