Job summary

Mansfield Crushing in Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a Leading Hand to oversee daily mobile crushing operations across quarry sites. You will lead a skilled crew, monitor safety and production, and collaborate with management to optimise performance and maintenance planning.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in quarry or heavy machinery, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within the Quarry or heavy machinery industry.
• Strong knowledge of mobile crushing operations and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and environmental standards.
• Relevant certifications in mining operations or heavy machinery operation are preferred.
• Ability to work flexible long hours and adapt to changing operational demands.
• Minimum 52.5 hours per week.
• Flexibility to travel and work at different sites depending on business needs. Staying away from home may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the mobile crushing team to ensure efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and assist with regular maintenance activities.
• Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality work standards.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational strategies and improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of production, equipment usage, and safety incidents.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues as they arise.
