Job summary

WSP's Sydney Building Services team is delivering some of Australia's most significant transport infrastructure projects, and we're looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to help lead their successful delivery.

You'll lead major multidisciplinary projects across HVAC, ventilation, smoke management and mechanical building services, mentor engineers, manage client relationships and contribute to business growth in a hybrid, flexible workplace.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Extensive experience in Building Services consulting environments.
• Proven success delivering major transport, infrastructure or complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC, ventilation and mechanical building services systems.
• Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience managing project scope, programme, risk and commercial outcomes.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capability.
• Experience leading proposals, pursuits and generating repeat business opportunities.
• Mentorship and development of engineers and building high-performing teams.
• Understanding of Australian Standards, NCC and relevant authority requirements.
• Chartered status, registration or eligibility for chartership is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of major transport and infrastructure projects from concept to construction.
• Provide technical leadership across HVAC, ventilation, smoke management and mechanical building services systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Manage project scope, programme, quality, risk and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain client, contractor and stakeholder relationships.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical governance for quality and constructability.
• Mentor, coach and develop engineers across the Mechanical discipline.
• Support growth of technical capability through knowledge sharing.
• Lead proposals and support pursuits to secure future opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for innovative, client-focused solutions.
