Job summary

Nillumbik Shire Council is seeking a Team Leader Land Management in Greensborough, VIC, on a parental leave contract through to February 2028. You will lead land management programs, provide specialist environmental advice, and oversee staff, grants and initiatives to protect and enhance the Shire’s natural environment and productive landscapes.

The role requires leadership, strong stakeholder liaison and experience with GIS data, helping to deliver Council objectives under flexible working

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Ecology or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated people management experience with coaching and development.
  • Extensive field experience in natural resource management and sustainable land work.
  • Experience delivering government or public projects and programs.
  • Experience liaising with landholders and community groups.
  • Experience in environmental data collection and GIS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Council's land management programs and services for positive biodiversity outcomes.
  • Provide leadership to the Land Management team to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide specialist environmental and agricultural advice to stakeholders and Council functions.
  • Lead development and continuous improvement of projects, policies and initiatives.
  • Manage complex environmental and stakeholder issues with risk-informed decisions.
  • Build productive relationships with landowners, groups, government agencies and staff.
