Job summary

CAE Inc is seeking a Simulator Pilot Instructor / Lead Instructor for the KC-30A MRTT at RAAF Amberley, QLD, to deliver high‑quality aircrew training in line with RAAF AIT standards and CAE policies. You will lead simulator instruction, assess trainees, and uphold safety and CAE values in a demanding defence environment.

The role requires flight-hour qualifications, leadership and collaboration with an instructional team, and ongoing improvement of training delivery.

Qualifications

• Hold or obtain qualifications to be authorised by the Commanding Officer of RAAF CFS as a Simulator Pilot Instructor under RAAF AIT standards on KC-30A MRTT.
• Have a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or recognised equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years Military QFI/OFI experience in an aircrew training environment (or military equivalent).
• Minimum 1,000 command hours on a military air-to-air refuelling aircraft.
• Minimum 1,000 hours as first pilot on an Airbus aircraft.
• Previous qualification as a KC-30A MRTT Captain.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver simulator-based pilot instruction in accordance with RAAF AIT and CAE training standards for KC-30A MRTT.
• Maintain authorisation as a Simulator Pilot Instructor as approved by the CO of RAAF CFS.
• Conduct aircrew training aligned with approved syllabi, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear instruction, assessment, and feedback to trainees in a professional learning environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery, safety and instructional quality.
• Collaborate within a high-performing instructional and operational team.
