Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Lead Integrity Engineer to provide technical leadership for asset integrity programs at a major gas processing facility in Melbourne. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, driving inspection, corrosion, reliability, and pressure equipment integrity initiatives while ensuring safe, compliant operations and leveraging best-practice engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or heavy industry environments.
• Experience with in-service inspection programs and Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead fixed asset integrity programs including piping and pressure vessels.
• Provide technical oversight for integrity inspection and maintenance activities.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; set priorities and drive performance.
• Drive RBI-based inspection planning and integrity risk management.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for pressure equipment and piping.
• Perform Fitness-For-Service assessments on in-service equipment.
• Investigate equipment failures and conduct root cause analysis.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with safety case requirements.
• Collaborate with Asset Management to improve reliability and operational performance.

About This Role

Join a leading energy operator as a Lead Integrity Engineer, providing technical leadership for asset integrity programs at a major gas processing facility. Responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians, you will drive inspection, corrosion, reliability and pressure equipment integrity programs while supporting safe, compliant and reliable operations through best-practice engineering solutions.

• Lead the site's fixed asset integrity programs, including piping, pressure vessels, corrosion management and pressure relief systems.
• Provide technical oversight for integrity inspection and maintenance activities.
• Support Operations and Maintenance teams with integrity management and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, setting priorities and driving performance outcomes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant safety case requirements.
• Manage integrity risks through inspection planning, assessment and repair recommendations.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) activities relating to pressure equipment and piping systems.
• Conduct Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessments on in-service equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures and recurring reliability issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and integrity performance KPIs.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and emerging best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Asset Management and site stakeholders to improve asset reliability and operational performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or a related Engineering discipline.
• Experience within oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, refining, chemical processing or similar heavy industry environments.
• Experience with in-service inspection programs and Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessments.
• Strong knowledge of materials degradation, corrosion mechanisms and corrosion management.
• Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) principles and implementation.
• Proven experience managing the integrity of pressure equipment, piping systems and fixed assets.
• Experience conducting equipment failure investigations, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) processes and integrity-related risk management.
• Strong understanding of industry standards including AS, ASME, API, AMPP and ISO codes.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding engineers and technicians.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
