Job summary

Tweed Indian Hut at Banora Point is seeking an experienced Chef to lead the kitchen full-time. The role involves directing food preparation, developing menus that include vegetarian and vegan options, and ensuring top quality across dine-in, takeaway and delivery.

The successful candidate will manage food costs, supervise staff, maintain food safety standards and work closely with front-of-house during peak periods. A minimum of 1 year in commercial cooking is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising kitchen staff is required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and cost control is important.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities across tandoor, curry, rice and bread.
• Develop and modify menus, including vegetarian and vegan options.
• Estimate food requirements and labor costs and manage stock.
• Prepare and cook food to a consistent standard for dine-in, takeaway and delivery.
• Supervise kitchen staff and demonstrate cooking techniques.
• Manage rostering, ordering and stock control and source ingredients.
