Job summary

oneZero Financial Systems is seeking a Lead C++ Software Engineer for the Canberra team. The role blends management and hands-on coding, with roughly 50% time on leadership and 50% on development of core real-time systems.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers worldwide to advance trading technology. In addition to a technical focus, the role involves mentoring, performance reviews and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of C++ development experience.
• At least 3 years in a technical lead or management role.
• Strong debugging and OO design skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; experience with performance review processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Canberra engineering team and contribute to coding as needed.
• Work on core technologies and real-time systems for the platform.
• Collaborate with a global team of developers on critical projects.
• Support recruitment, mentoring and performance reviews for the team.

We are currently looking for a motivated and talented Lead C++ Software Engineer to join our Canberra Development team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a team of highly experienced developers from around the world on core technologies and critical real-time systems that drive the oneZero platform. A financial background is not required; however, you must be able to learn new concepts quickly and apply them to C++ code, design and algorithms. Lead engineers should expect to spend, on average, around 50% of their time managing their engineering team and 50% on actual coding.
