Job summary

VDI Australia is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager or Assistant Service Manager to lead our Perth workshops and drive performance across sites. You will mentor technicians, ensure high repair quality, safety and efficient operations, and work closely with service advisors and warranty teams.

You will apply heavy vehicle diagnostics, plan repairs, escalate complex issues, and oversee productivity and service delivery while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a heavy vehicle workshop team.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of workshop systems and repair documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day workshop operations across Perth sites.
• Coordinate workflow, technician utilisation and job allocations.
• Act as escalation point for complex diagnostics and technical enquiries.
• Mentor and develop technicians and apprentices.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.
