Job summary

Emeco is seeking a hands-on Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Fitter for Foxleigh Mine in Middlemount, QLD. You will lead and mentor a trades team while actively maintaining equipment in workshop and on site, coordinating daily crew activities and breakdown response to keep the fleet safe and productive.

You’ll work across workshop and field maintenance with a strong focus on leadership, teamwork, and hands-on diesel fitting.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised trade qualification
• Previous experience in a Leading Hand or senior fitter role
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
• Experience across workshop and field maintenance
• Coal mining maintenance experience
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of tradespeople while remaining actively involved in workshop and field maintenance
• Coordinate daily crew activities and support breakdown response
• Ensure fleet operates safely and efficiently
• Lead by example and stay hands-on when required
