Job summary

BlueScope Distribution in Townsville, QLD, seeks a Leading Hand / Dispatch (Day Shift) to support the Operations Supervisor in coordinating daily warehouse, processing and dispatch activities. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with a profit share program and wellbeing initiatives.

Responsibilities include guiding the operations team, ensuring safety, managing stock movements, and liaising with customers, transport providers and sales teams to meet on-time delivery and specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution or similar environment.
• Current forklift licence and safe forklift operation experience.
• Crane operation competency or relevant experience.
• Experience loading, unloading, processing and storing steel, metal or similar products.
• Knowledge of MS Office, SAP, WMS or similar ERP systems.
• Strong safety focus and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities and guide the operations team.
• Promote a strong safety culture with incident reporting and safe work practices.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound stock movements, receipting and dispatch documentation.
• Safely process, pick, load, unload and store products using equipment.
• Coordinate transport providers and collaborate with customers, drivers, sales and operations teams.
• Maintain records and contribute to continuous improvement and service delivery.
