Job summary

Xero in Melbourne is seeking a Lead Engineer to design and build modern React + Next.js and TypeScript experiences that connect Xero’s core ecosystem with its public web presence. You’ll set the architecture for a multi-site platform, lead one of two engineering pods and drive performance and accessibility as standard.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Marketing and Support to bring new ideas to life, explore AI-powered features, and push for a modern, scalable frontend that handles high-traffic

Qualifications

• Deep experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js at architecture level.
• Ability to design high-performance, multi-site frontend platforms.
• Experience migrating or evolving live, high-traffic sites with minimal disruption.
• Strong focus on performance and accessibility (Core Web Vitals / WCAG).
• Experience coaching engineers and leading teams by influence.
