Job summary

Randstad is seeking a lead frontend engineer in Sydney to split time between building core features and shaping the frontend architecture. You will guide micro-frontend vs monolith strategies, optimize performance, and set technical standards across squads.

You will mentor engineers, lead integration of AI-assisted practices, and help drive adoption of enterprise design systems while maintaining accessibility and quality across delivery.

The Role

In this pivotal lead position, you will split your time between hands‑on core feature development and setting overall frontend architecture. You will evaluate application boundaries, guide micro‑frontend vs monolith strategies, trace rendering performance, and establish technical standards across multiple squads. You will also mentor engineers and lead the integration of AI‑assisted engineering practices into daily delivery workflows.

The Tech Stack & Environment

Frontend Core: TypeScript, Modern Angular (v14+ including Standalone Components and Signals).

Architecture: Micro‑frontends (Module Federation), Client State Management, URL-driven state patterns.

Standards & Tools: Enterprise Design Systems, Accessibility (WCAG), AI‑assisted engineering tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).

What You'll Bring

Deep expertise in TypeScript and modern Angular patterns.

Proven capability deciding composition strategies (runtime vs build-time integration).

Strong track record diagnosing rendering jank, optimizing main-thread execution, and driving Core Web Vitals in production.

Experience building and governing multi-squad Design Systems.

Demonstrated history driving AI‑assisted development practices and upskilling engineering teams.
