Job summary

Intrax Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to lead forensic investigations and remedial projects in Adelaide. The role requires chartered status, a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, and a strong track record with insurers, legal professionals and asset owners.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to tenders, and help grow Intrax’s forensics and remedial capabilities in SA, working across residential, commercial and industrial structures with

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years' experience within forensic or remedial engineering.
  • Strong forensic investigation and technical report writing capability across residential, commercial and industrial assets.
  • Previous structural design experience across building structures, including remedial and strengthening solutions.
  • Experience working with insurers, legal professionals, builders, developers or asset owners.
  • Exposure to tenders, proposals and business development activities, with the ability to contribute to or lead work-winning initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex forensic investigations and remedial engineering projects across residential, commercial and industrial structures.
  • Conduct site inspections and investigations across metropolitan and regional SA.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports identifying cause of failure, extent of damage and remediation solutions.
  • Develop remedial repair methodologies and documentation for damaged structures and construction-related issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with insurers, legal professionals, asset owners, builders and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development activities including client engagement, tenders, proposals and capability presentations.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while strengthening Intrax’s market presence in SA.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers within the Forensic & Remedial team.
  • Support innovation initiatives including process improvement and quality assurance.
  • Represent Intrax at industry events, technical discussions and client presentations.

The Intrax Forensic Department is recognised as a trusted partner to the legal sector, insurance market, asset owners and the building and construction industry through our ability to deliver accurate, innovative and commercially focused forensic engineering and remediation solutions.

As our South Australian business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to join our Adelaide team and play a key leadership role in the continued expansion of our Forensic & Remedial offering.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded engineer who enjoys building client relationships, winning work, leading complex forensic investigations and contributing to the strategic growth of a national business. You will work closely with senior leaders across the business while becoming a recognised technical and market presence within the South Australian forensic engineering sector.

Your Day Will Be Busy And Varied Including

  • Leading complex forensic investigations and remedial engineering projects across residential, commercial and industrial structures
  • Conducting site inspections and investigations across metropolitan and regional SA
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports identifying cause of failure, extent of damage and recommended remediation solutions
  • Developing remedial repair methodologies and rectification documentation for damaged structures and construction-related issues
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurers, legal professionals, asset owners, builders and other industry stakeholders
  • Contributing to business development activities including client engagement, networking, tenders, proposals and capability presentations
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities while strengthening Intrax’s market presence in SA
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers within the broader Forensic & Remedial team
  • Supporting innovation initiatives including process improvement, system enhancement and quality assurance activities
  • Representing Intrax at industry events, technical discussions and client presentations

Technically you will have a demonstrable track record that covers:

  • 8–10+ years’ experience within forensic or remedial engineering
  • Strong forensic investigation and technical report writing capability across residential, commercial and industrial assets
  • Previous structural design experience across building structures, including remedial and strengthening solutions
  • Experience working with insurers, legal professionals, builders, developers or asset owners
  • Exposure to tenders, proposals and business development activities, with the ability to contribute to or lead work-winning initiatives
  • Strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer status essential
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
