Job summary

GenusPlus Group in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. You will prepare accurate, competitive tenders for substation and transmission line projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver sound estimates.

The role requires at least 3 years in senior estimating or estimating management, proficiency with Candy, and the ability to develop cost databases, schedules of rates and tender documentation under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior estimating or estimating management role.
• Proficiency in Candy estimating software.
• Experience estimating substation and transmission line projects.
• Experience preparing and managing tenders in utilities/power sectors.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements.
• Review technical specifications, drawings and tender documentation to develop accurate bids.
• Manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines and commercial requirements.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, supplier pricing and schedules of rates.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing and resolve queries.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and assess alternate construction methods.
