You will become part of the One Solution Centre (OSC), Schneider Electric's premier engineering hub for bespoke power infrastructure across the Pacific.
The OSC designs and delivers integrated Low and Medium Voltage solutions, including switchgear, switchboards, prefabricated switchrooms, busway systems, kiosks, transformers, and modular substations. About the Role
We're looking for a Lead Engineer, Cooling Technologies to join our One Solutions team and lead the technical delivery of cooling solutions across some of the world's largest data centre, cloud, AI, and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership, project execution, and customer engagement. Working closely with sales teams, project managers, factories, suppliers, and engineering centres, you will take ownership of the cooling technical scope from tender development through project execution and handover, ensuring solutions are compliant, reliable, sustainable, and aligned with customer expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the development of cooling solutions for major data centre and mission-critical project opportunities.
- Analysing customer requirements and technical specifications to develop compliant and optimised cooling architectures.
- Supporting tender development through technical reviews, customer presentations, risk assessments, and solution validation.
- Acting as the technical owner for cooling systems throughout the project lifecycle, from handover to project completion.
- Coordinating engineering activities across factories, suppliers, engineering centres, project teams, and technology partners.
- Reviewing and approving detailed engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Schneider Electric standards.
- Providing technical leadership during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and project closeout activities.
- Supporting design change management, technical risk mitigation, and issue resolution throughout project delivery.
- Ensuring seamless integration of cooling systems with electrical, controls, monitoring, and prefabricated infrastructure solutions.
- Acting as the primary technical interface for cooling-related discussions with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineer, Thermal Engineer, or similar.
- 7+ years' experience leading technical scopes, engineering work packages, or major customer projects.
- Experience delivering projects within data centres, cloud and service providers, hyperscale, colocation, or other mission-critical environments.
- Proven experience developing technical proposals and supporting the execution of complex cooling infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in datacentre cooling systems, chilled water and air-cooled technologies, liquid cooling solutions, HVAC systems, thermal management, and cooling architectures supporting AI, HPC, and mission critical environments.
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE guidelines, HVAC standards, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to review, challenge, and approve complex engineering designs and technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multicultural, matrixed organisations and manage multiple technical interfaces simultaneously.
