Job summary

Next Generation Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrician for work on renewable energy projects in the Melbourne area. The role involves installation, maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure across rooftop solar, microgrids and energy storage systems, with coordination with project managers and field staff.

The ideal candidate has a proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a track record in electrical construction, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 3 years of working experience in electrician / construction industry (energy/renewables preferred).
• Knowledge of electrical codes and international design standards.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure, embedded networks, energy efficiency, solar PV including ground mount systems and batteries.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure for projects.
• Deliver preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Manage projects within or below budget, including cost of labour and materials.
• Liaise with client, site and vendors on design and construction aspects.
• Subcontractor management and quality control.
• Run pre-start and toolbox meetings on site.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
