Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join our team at Little Shining Stars Evanston. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early childhood development and a genuine love for working with children. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of educators to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that supports the growth and development of our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of a room, ensuring a high standard of care and education.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate programs and activities that support the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families and maintain open communication regarding their child's progress and needs.
  • Ensure that the room meets all regulatory requirements and adheres to the center's policies and procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Monitor and assess the developmental progress of each child, making adjustments to programs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment that promotes health and well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Proven experience working in an early childhood setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A deep understanding of child development principles and practices.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certifications.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
