Job summary

Possums Corner Childcare is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to lead preschool programming in Lane Cove, NSW. You will guide educators, deliver high-quality play-based activities and support children’s learning, wellbeing and school readiness within a collaborative team.

You will apply EYLF and NQF standards, keep detailed learning records, and mentor others while fostering inclusive, child-centered practice in a warm community setting.

Qualifications

• ACECQA-approved bachelor's degree or higher with an early childhood specialisation.
• Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating play-based learning.
• Working knowledge of EYLF and NQF requirements.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check and first aid qualifications or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate engaging, play-based learning experiences for preschool children.
• Lead development and implementation of the educational program and curriculum.
• Promote children's agency, inclusion, wellbeing and meaningful participation.
• Document and assess children's learning using observations, stories, portfolios and photos.
• Ensure a safe, supportive and stimulating environment per NQF and WHS standards.
• Model positive behaviour and intentional teaching to support learning.
• Develop relationships with children and families.
• Support children's transition to school.
• Mentor educators in curriculum planning and reflective practice.
• Maintain high standards of child safety and professional practice.
