Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Senior Medical Physics Specialist (Diagnostic Radiology) for the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District at Prince of Wales Hospital. The role leads radiology medical physics services, ensures radiation safety, and drives education and research in a tertiary hospital setting.

The successful candidate will be ACPSEM-eligible, with strong leadership and collaboration skills, and will contribute to registrar training and accreditation programs across SESLDH facilities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Physical Sciences from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in Medical Physics or related field from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Eligible for registration with ACPSEM as a qualified medical physics specialist in Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics (Radiology).
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of medical physicists and work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with ACPSEM TEAP requirements for facility accreditation and training centres.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct provision of medical physics services related to Radiological Imaging.
• Oversee equipment lifecycle management and radiation safety for Radiology staff, patients and the public.
• Perform testing, research & development, and education & training activities.
• Support accreditation processes to train Medical Physics Registrars in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.
• Collaborate with higher education institutions for teaching and research.
