Job summary

State Government of Victoria, Australia is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead design, implementation and support of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and IaC across Azure and AWS. You will guide release processes, monitoring, and platform tooling in collaboration with software, data and cloud platform engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with infrastructure as code (OpenTofu/Terraform).
• Proven CI/CD design experience and GitHub Actions expertise.
• Hands-on cloud infra management in Azure and AWS.
• Scripting in PowerShell/Bash/Python for automation.
• Leadership in technical implementations and mentoring teams.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Ability to integrate security checks into CI/CD (DevSecOps).
• Familiarity with observability (Azure Monitor/OpenTelemetry).
• Knowledge of network design and multi-cloud strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and support of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS and container orchestration.
• Oversee release processes, monitoring, and platform tooling for developers.
