Job summary

Transgrid, NSW and ACT's major electricity transmission network operator, invites an Electrical Engineer to lead the Major Projects Development Team from concept through to project definition, delivering substations, transmission lines, and network augmentation projects.

You will work with planning, design, operations and delivery teams to produce practical, cost-effective solutions, perform risk assessments and prepare business cases to secure investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary-qualified Electrical Engineer with CPEng status.
• Experience in feasibility assessments and option analysis for large-scale power projects.
• Strong stakeholder coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of Australian engineering standards and project delivery frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of project scopes, feasibility studies and option assessments for major transmission infrastructure projects.
• Develop concept designs and delivery strategies for substations and transmission lines.
• Facilitate engineering workshops and technical reviews.
• Support capital cost estimation, scheduling, risk assessments and business case documentation.
• Define project staging and implementation approaches to minimise network impacts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to manage project risks.
