Job summary

Transgrid in Sydney is seeking a Project Development Lead to own end-to-end development and design coordination of complex energy projects across greenfield substations, transmission lines, and network upgrades. You will align internal teams and external partners, manage scope, cost, and schedule, and ensure compliance with National Electricity Rules.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will lead bid proposals, feasibility studies, and design delivery, mentor staff, and influence decisions

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in power industry project development and delivery.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and procurement in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory processes and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead proposals, scoping, feasibility studies and cost/time estimates for complex projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design delivery with internal teams and external partners.
• Develop project delivery strategies and obtain endorsement from Project Director.
• Manage procurement of external design and engineering services and tender processes.
• Maintain project development budgets and monthly cost/time/risk reporting to senior management.
• Ensure governance artefacts and PM Framework compliance across project phases.
• Build relationships with stakeholders including Lumea, Infrastructure Planners, DNSPs and contractors.
• Mentor and develop team members to share knowledge and enhance capability.
• Ensure compliance with National Electricity Rules and Transgrid standards.
• Contribute to process improvements via procedures and lessons learned.
