Job summary

Sedgman Prudentia is seeking an experienced SMP Designer to work on projects from concept to detail design within the Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing sectors. You will contribute across piping, mechanical and structural disciplines, creating 3D designs and 2D drawings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams based in Adelaide and Brisbane.

The role emphasizes autonomous work, adherence to Australian standards, and delivering high-quality design deliverables across diverse mining

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in mining, minerals processing, energy, and chemicals.
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards.
• Experience from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in producing 2D design drawings, including plot plans, general arrangements, detailed drawings, and piping isometrics.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD tools: AutoCAD 2D or MicroStation 2D.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling programs: AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, or REVIT.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead multidiscipline project teams.

Responsibilities

• Take an engineering concept and convert it into a 3D design.
• Check drafting deliverables for accuracy, completeness and adherence to design specifications and intent.
• Uphold quality standards and client requirements to complete tasks efficiently.
• Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, systems and processes.

The Opportunity

Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a skilled SMP Designer's with hands-on experience on projects ranging from conceptual design to detailed engineering. These position reports directly to the Designer Team Lead and involves working on a diverse array of projects across the Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing industries. You'll be involved in the entire design process, from concept to detailed design, with a clear focus on Piping-Mechanical-Structural expertise.

• Ability to take an engineering concept and convert it into a 3D design.

• Apply attention and diligence to uphold quality standards, and client requirements, to complete tasks efficiently.
• Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, systems and processes

About You
