Job summary

Sedgman Prudentia seeks a skilled SMP Designer with hands-on experience from concept to detailed design. You will contribute to piping, mechanical and structural design across Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing projects in Adelaide and beyond.

Responsibilities include turning concepts into 3D designs, checking drafts for accuracy, and supporting continuous improvement while collaborating with multidiscipline teams and meeting budget and schedule expectations.

Qualifications

• Up to 7 years of industry experience in mining, minerals processing, energy, and chemicals.
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian standards.
• Experience from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in 2D drawings (plot plans, GA, detailed drawings, piping isometrics).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D or MicroStation 2D.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling programs (AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, REVIT).
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Understanding of project budget and schedule; ability to communicate deliverables.

The Opportunity

Due to our sustained growth, we are currently seeking a skilled SMP Designer's with hands-on experience on projects ranging from conceptual design to detailed engineering. These position reports directly to the Designer Team Lead and involves working on a diverse array of projects across the Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing industries. You'll be involved in the entire design process, from concept to detailed design, with a clear focus on Piping-Mechanical-Structural expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to take an engineering concept and convert it into a 3D design.
• Check drafting deliverables for accuracy, completeness and adherence to design specifications & intent.
• Apply attention and diligence to uphold quality standards, and client requirements, to complete tasks efficiently.
• Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, systems and processes

About You

• Up to 7 years of industry experience in mining, minerals processing, energy, and chemicals.
• A strong understanding of relevant Australian standards.
• Experience with projects from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in producing 2D design drawings, including plot plans, general arrangements, detailed drawings, and piping isometrics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D or MicroStation 2D.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling programs, such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, or REVIT.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Understanding of project budget, schedule and able to communicate engineering deliverable requirements
