Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited (PLS) is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design management and ongoing technical oversight of sustaining and growth process infrastructure across its international asset base. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality end solutions that deliver real value to the business.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role is based at our West Perth office with multiple employment options (full-time, casual, or fixed-term).

• Extensive mineral processing wet plant design experience.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Discipline design management and prioritisation of works to meet operational requirements.
• Discipline design management of growth project opportunities, including long-lead equipment identification and technical estimates.
• Management of external design consultants to deliver design works.
• Oversight of compliance to internal and statutory requirements, including safety-in-design values.
• Collaborate with Studies, Operations, Asset Readiness and Project Delivery teams to ensure project success.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for the design management and ongoing technical oversight of both sustaining and growth process infrastructure in PLS’ development portfolio across it’s international asset base. This role involves working with cross-functional teams across design, execution and operations to ensure high-quality end solutions that deliver value to the business.

This role has the multiple options for employment type available – full time, casual or fixed term contract depending on the experience and availability of the successful candidate. The role is based at our beautiful West Perth office, near the City West train station.

Key responsibilities

• Discipline design management and ownership of project identification, solution analysis, prioritisation and sequencing of works to meet the operational requirements.
• Discipline design management of identified growth project opportunities, including long-lead equipment identification, concept layout works, technical estimate / schedule involvement and project study input.
• Management of external design consultants to assist in the delivery of design works.
• Overview of compliance to internal and statutory requirements, including delivery of safety-in-design values in team performance
• Work closely with Studies, Operations, Asset Readiness and Project Delivery teams to ensure project success through all phases of scoping, execution and commissioning / handover.
