Job summary

CommBank is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to shape data strategy and deliver production-grade ML, GenAI and Agentic AI for the Customer Service Network. You’ll lead hands-on model delivery while influencing data governance and risk.

You’ll partner with product, technology and business stakeholders to move from experimentation to production, building scalable AI assets and ensuring responsible AI delivery. This role sits in a progressive data and AI program in Australia.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on data science experience with ML, GenAI and Agentic AI.
• Ability to translate customer service challenges into predictive or Agentic solutions.
• Experience designing, developing and productionising ML models.
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality and data risk considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and productionise ML, GenAI and Agentic AI solutions to solve business problems.
• Translate service challenges into well-defined ML/Agentic approaches.
• Shape GenAI and Agentic AI opportunities across customer service journeys.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and risk teams to assess value and constraints.
• Support the data science lifecycle from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to data governance and data quality initiatives.
