Job summary

PRA in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to steer delivery of a large-scale Azure data platform within a financial services context.

You will mentor Data Engineers while remaining hands-on in architecture, coding standards, design reviews and complex technical decisions. This permanent, onsite role offers AU$180,000 base plus super, with strong focus on data modelling, Azure technologies and stakeholder collaboration in a major Melbourne organisation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership in Data Engineering.
• Strong SQL, Python and PySpark skills.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, ADLS and Delta Lake.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
• Strong data modelling and data warehousing knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in financial services, Azure certifications, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, APIs, Azure Functions, Docker or Kubernetes would be advantageous.
