Job summary

Hitech Asia Pacific is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for a Federal Government program delivering earth observation and data analytics capabilities. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms and automated pipelines in cloud environments.

You will lead technical efforts, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while operating under a hybrid working arrangement with a 12-month contract and extension potential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with large datasets in cloud-based environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Python, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Experience developing and supporting automated data pipelines, workflows and analytics platforms.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and drive engineering best practices across teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines, workflows and cloud-based data platforms.
• Supporting the delivery and optimisation of large-scale data processing and analytics capabilities.
• Implementing automated testing, deployment and orchestration solutions across cloud environments.
• Providing technical leadership, guidance and knowledge sharing across multidisciplinary teams.
• Embedding security, reliability and performance best practices throughout platform and solution delivery.
