Job summary
Advanced Navigation is seeking a Senior Control and Digital Signal Processing Engineer to develop and advance control and DSP solutions for Fibre Optic Gyroscopes (FOG). You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team to improve sensor performance, robustness and reliability through modelling, algorithm development and experimental validation.
The role focuses on optimising closed-loop control and DSP to enhance FOG performance, stability and dynamic response, and translating system
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (control, electrical, or physics).
- Demonstrated experience developing control and DSP for real-time systems.
- Strong modelling, simulation and experimental data analysis skills.
- Experience validating algorithms on hardware and resolving system issues.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize closed-loop control and DSP algorithms for FOG.
- Create models and analysis methods to guide design decisions.
- Investigate performance limits and validate improvements.
- Collaborate with photonics, electronics, FPGA and firmware engineers.
- Define performance requirements and verification approaches.
- Support system integration, characterisation and production support.
- Provide ownership across the development lifecycle from concept to production.
