Job summary

Northern Territory Government in Alice Springs invites applications for a Senior Professional 1 in Clinical Rehabilitation. The role leads a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers and Aboriginal Program Facilitators to deliver offence-related rehabilitation in a custodial setting.

You will oversee assessments, ensure quality reporting, and drive program development while managing staff performance, budgets and partnerships with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology (AHPRA registered) or Social Work (AASW).
• Experience delivering forensic assessments and interventions.
• Leadership within a multidisciplinary team in a secure/forensic environment.
• Knowledge of evidence-based offender programs and behaviour change.
• Experience supervising staff, managing performance and budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Cultural capability, particularly with Aboriginal communities.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Forensic/Clinical Psychology or endorsements.
• AASW accreditation (Supervisor/Clinical/Family Violence).
• Formal leadership or management training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team delivering offence-specific rehabilitation programs.
• Oversee clinical assessments using psychometric tools and ensure high-quality reporting.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, legislative frameworks, and best practice guidelines.
• Liaise with prison management, courts, and external stakeholders on risk and offender management.
• Contribute to program development, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Manage documentation, reporting, and data collection.
• Support staff development, performance management and team cohesion.
