Octopus Australia is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to strengthen civil capabilities across the lifecycle of utility-scale solar, wind and BESS projects in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. You will shape civil standards, lead technical decisions, and influence cost, schedule and long-term asset performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated civil engineering experience on renewable energy projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills for junior engineers.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple internal teams and external partners.
• Experience with pre- and post-financial close project phases.

Responsibilities

• Define, structure and manage civil workstream scope, budget and schedule across lifecycle phases.
• Provide technical leadership and templates to improve civil standards and governance.
• Own civil interfaces with electrical, grid, environmental and commercial teams.
• Contribute to tendering, contract evaluation and post-award engineering management.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, design reports and construction docs.
• Review EPC/Owner’s Engineer submissions and manage non-conformances.
• Manage civil punch lists on operating assets post-COD.
• Coordinate design reviews, site inspections and technical workshops.
