Job summary

Ozcare in Innisfail is seeking an experienced Chief Cook to lead our kitchen operations for our residents. You will prepare nutritionally balanced meals, manage a kitchen team, and ensure high standards of food safety and service.

The role involves menu planning, resident involvement, and regular monitoring of catering services. We welcome applicants who are committed to quality, safety, and compassionate care for our aged community.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience cooking for large groups.
• Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Vaccination against influenza and at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
• Current Police Screening Certificate.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily nutritionally balanced meals.
• Order main line food commodities and maintain stock reserves and control.
• Supervise Client Services Assistants and Volunteers directly associated with the kitchen environment.
• Ensure the needs of the residents are met through regular monitoring of catering services.
• Prepare menus and involve residents in choice and selection where appropriate.
• Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices.
