Job summary

Moda Builds on the Bellarine Peninsula is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to manage a small on-site crew, perform carpentry across all build stages, and deliver one project from start to finish with a focus on quality. You will contribute to high-end renovations and new homes while maintaining tight timelines.

The role requires reading plans, strong communication with the builder and apprentices, and owning tools with a reliable car.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years' qualified carpentry experience.
• Experience in a leading hand role — you know how to run a crew.
• A sharp eye for detail — we're doing high-end stuff, so the finish matters.
• Can read plans and keep a job moving without needing your hand held.
• Good communicator, works well in a team but can lead one too.
• Own tools, reliable car, current White Card.

Responsibilities

• Running a small crew day to day on-site.
• Getting stuck into the carpentry work yourself across all stages of the build.
• Mostly working on one project at a time, start to finish.
• Keeping quality and safety on point.
• Working closely with the builder to keep things ticking along.
• Helping out the apprentices coming through.
