Lead Building Works Supervisor & Estimator

Job summary

Our government client is seeking an experienced Building Works Supervisor & Estimator to support delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade projects across a diverse government property portfolio. This role combines estimating, contract administration, project supervision, tenancy inspections, WHS leadership and client relationship management.

You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while supporting Government Employee Housing services.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction, maintenance or building projects.
• Strong estimating, quotation and tender preparation skills.
• Sound knowledge of building industry practices, construction processes and contract management.
• Proven ability to coordinate contractors and project teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality quotations, estimates and tender documentation in accordance with industry best practice, client requirements and departmental standards.
• Supervise the delivery of construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects undertaken.
• Coordinate and support office staff, field personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Undertake property inspections, tenancy management activities and maintenance assessments on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
• Monitor project quality, compliance and contractual obligations.
• Promote and maintain a strong workplace health and safety culture across all projects and work sites.
• Conduct WHS audits, inspections and plant and equipment checks.
• Ensure appropriate risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are in place for all works.
• Work collaboratively with Regional WHS Advisors and WHS Manager to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand services and support business growth.
