Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland, Victoria, is inviting applications for an Anaesthetist to join the Surgical and Perioperative Services team. The role encompasses delivering safe anaesthetic care across inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities to supervise junior medical staff and contribute to education and service improvement.

We seek MBBS or equivalent with ANZCA fellowship, excellent communication, and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and registered with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
• Demonstrated clinical competence consistent with an Anaesthetist's responsibilities and experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage respectfully with patients, carers and colleagues.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, provide supervision and support continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality anaesthetic care and ensure all clinical procedures comply with LRH policies, legislation and clinical guidelines.
• Provide clear and accurate documentation, ensuring treatment plans, patient outcomes and clinical events are recorded to meet legal and organisational requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, address clinical issues and ensure timely communication and handover across inpatient and outpatient services.
• Supervise, support and provide clinical leadership to junior medical staff, medical students and other health professional learners.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of treatment protocols, clinical guidelines and service improvement initiatives.
