Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in regional Victoria is recruiting Consultant Anaesthetists to join a modern department and deliver high-quality perioperative care across elective and emergency surgery.

You will lead and teach a multidisciplinary team, contribute to governance and service development, and participate in on-call duties, with a strong emphasis on education, research, and patient-centred care in Gippsland.

Qualifications

• FANZCA fellowship or equivalent required.
• ANZCA Specialist Assessment confirming eligibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and high-quality patient care.
• Interest in teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality anaesthetic services across elective and emergency surgery.
• Provide perioperative assessment and optimisation of patients.
• Support theatre efficiency and perioperative planning.
• Participate in the on-call roster.
• Supervise Anaesthetic Registrars, Junior Medical Officers and medical students.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary perioperative care and governance.
• Support teaching, education and continuing professional development within the department.
