Job summary

Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Melbourne is seeking a Lawyer to join our Client Intake Direct to Lawyer Team on a Full Time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract. You will provide initial legal advice to clients with new injury claims in Victoria across motor vehicle, workers’ compensation and public liability.

The role requires empathetic communication, strong written and verbal skills, and the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team, with a focus on delivering a positive client experience.

Qualifications

• Previous exposure in Personal Injury Law preferred but we are open to Junior Lawyers.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment.
• Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial legal advice to clients with new injury claims in Victoria across motor vehicle accident compensation, workers’ compensation and public liability.
• Take instructions on the client’s matter and assess viability of the enquiry.
• Provide advice and potentially offer a costs agreement.
• Contribute to a positive client experience and work with the Direct to Lawyer Team.

Our team of Lawyers in the Direct to Lawyer Team take the time to listen and empathise with all our new client enquiries. They are often the first point of contact and at the forefront of client care and compassion.

We are now seeking a Lawyer to join our Client Intake Direct to Lawyer Team at our Melbourne Office on a Full Time, 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing initial legal advice to clients with new injury claims in Victoria particularly across the personal injury practices of Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation, Workers’ Compensation and / or Public Liability. You will provide an early triage function for new client enquiries. You will be required to take instructions on the client's matter before deciding on the viability of the enquiry, providing advice to that effect and possibly offering a legal costs agreement. If you are passionate about helping clients and ensuring their client experience with the firm is a positive one, then this role is for you.
