Job summary

Riverlane’s Cambridge, UK graduate scheme offers a permanent, full-time role with 12 months of rotational engineering work across teams. You’ll gain hands-on experience in quantum computing and QEC, working with researchers to translate cutting-edge ideas into working technology.

A supervisor will guide you through rotations while you contribute meaningfully from day one. You will rotate through engineering teams, have a dedicated supervisor, and after the year move into an engineering role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/Physics/Math required or in progress.
• Graduation in 2026 or expected in 2027.
• Experience with at least one programming language, preferably C++ or Python.
• Strong written & verbal communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software or hardware tools used in quantum computing and QEC.
• Contribute to engineering projects from design through implementation, testing and improvement.
• Learn to build and test complex products at the cutting edge of technology.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists from multiple disciplines to solve problems.
• Develop engineering skills through hands-on work and team feedback.
