NEPEAN Longwall in Paget, Mackay QLD is seeking a Laser Cladding Operator to set up, operate and maintain laser cladding equipment for repair and enhancement of industrial components. The role emphasises safety, quality, and precision in a manufacturing setting.

You will configure systems, monitor laser power and material flow, perform pre- and post-cladding inspections, and ensure clean, compliant operation. Collaboration with maintenance and production teams is essential for consistent results.

Qualifications

• Experience with laser cladding, CNC or robotic manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand specs.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Experience with measuring tools and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Configure laser cladding systems and program machine parameters.
• Inspect, clean and pretreat workpieces for bonding.
• Operate CNC or robotic cladding cells and monitor process metrics.
• Perform post-cladding inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Maintain optics, nozzles and delivery systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Adhere to laser safety protocols and PPE requirements.
