Job summary

Department of Regional NSW is seeking a mid-level Land Management professional to assess native vegetation clearing applications and work with landholders to balance production with biodiversity outcomes. The role is based in the South East NSW region with field work required.

Reporting to the Land Services team, you will implement land management legislation, lead projects, provide best-practice advice, and travel to inspect sites across Cooma, Goulburn, or nearby locations by negotiation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Land Management and/or Natural Resource Management.
• Ability to understand and interpret legislation and provide timely advice.
• Knowledge of native vegetation and sustainable land management practices.
• Experience engaging with landholders and forming strong relationships.
• Proven project leadership with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess native vegetation clearing applications and lead related projects.
• Advise on best practice and responsibilities under the Land Management Framework.
• Work with landholders to implement land management legislation.
• Travel for inspections and site assessments as required.
