Job summary

Randstad is recruiting for a Plant Manager to oversee end-to-end operations at a leading meat processing facility in Victoria. The role covers slaughter, boning, packaging, dispatch and logistics to ensure safety, quality and profitability.

You will lead a cross-functional team, manage budgets, drive continuous improvement, and uphold strict food-safety and WHS standards across the operation.

Qualifications

• Must have direct lamb processing experience.
• 2+ years leading large teams in lamb processing or manufacturing.
• Strong budget management, cost control and yield optimization.
• Deep knowledge of food safety compliance, export regulations and WHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily plant workflows to hit production targets and optimize yields.
• Manage operating and capital budgets and implement cost-reduction strategies.
• Enforce regulatory standards and export certifications; lead audits and corrective actions.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate supervisors, operators and staff.
• Oversee livestock, packaging, and raw material procurement; manage cold-storage dispatches and finished goods inventory.
• Partner with engineering teams to minimize downtime and lead lean process improvements.
