Job summary

North Shore Private Hospital invites a skilled Lactation Consultant to join the Midwife Services Team on a permanent full-time basis. You will deliver evidence-based care, conduct clinical assessments, and contribute to care planning while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will support mothers on the postnatal ward and through the Lactation Consulting Clinic, using your AHPRA-registered midwifery qualifications and IBCLC credentials to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• AHPRA Registered Midwife with current registration is essential.
• IBCLC certificate is in progress or achieved.
• 1–2 years post-graduate experience in midwifery services.
• Prescribing for midwives’ certificate is desirable.

We are seeking a skilled Lactation Consultant to join our Midwife Services Team at North Shore Private on a permanent, full-timebasis.

• Delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care across undefined presentations.
• Conducting thorough clinical assessments and contributing to care planning.
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with Ramsay standards and relevant legislation.
• Support mothers on the postnatal ward and through the Lactation Consulting Clinic.

About You

You are a clinically confident Lactation Consultant with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife(essential).
• Minimum 1–2 years' post-graduate experience in midwifery services.
• Current or working towards IBCLC certificate.
• Prescribing for midwives’ certificate (desirable).
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate of $58.81+ superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (Clinical Nurse/ Midwifery Specialist)
