APG Workforce is seeking a Labourer / Road Worker to join a traffic signals crew based from Russell Vale Depot, NSW. The role supports installation, maintenance and upgrades of traffic signal infrastructure with a focus on concreting and formwork.

Candidates with kerbs, ramps and footpaths experience are highly regarded. This is a hands-on, night-shift role starting ASAP, operating within a 9-day fortnight roster.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing traffic signal infrastructure.
• Excavate, trench, backfill and concrete works as directed.
• Carry out formwork and concrete tasks when needed.
• Assist with cable handling, pit installation and commissioning.
• Operate hand and power tools and light plant.
• Load and transport materials and equipment.
• Support maintenance crews with inspections and repairs.
• Maintain safe, tidy worksite per WHS standards.
• Support supervisors to meet deadlines and quality targets.

Labourer / Road Worker – Traffic Signals

Location: Russell Vale Depot, NSW
Pay Rate: $45.45 per hour + super
Contract: 3 months, with potential extension
Start: ASAP
Roster: 9-day fortnight
Shift: Predominantly night shift – Sunday to Thursday, 6:00pm–2:30am

APG Workforce is seeking an experienced Labourer / Road Worker to join a traffic signals construction team based from Russell Vale Depot.

This hands-on role will support the installation, maintenance and upgrade of traffic signal infrastructure. We are particularly interested in candidates with concreting and formwork experience, with previous experience constructing kerbs, ramps and footpaths highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of traffic signal poles, pits, conduits, cables and associated infrastructure
• Undertake excavation, trenching, backfilling, concreting and reinstatement works
• Complete formwork and concrete works as required
• Assist with cable hauling, pit installation and commissioning activities
• Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant equipment
• Load, unload and transport materials, tools and equipment
• Assist maintenance crews with fault repairs, inspections and emergency response activities
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment
• Follow WHS requirements, procedures and relevant safety standards
• Support supervisors and tradespeople to meet project deadlines and quality requirements

About You To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Previous civil construction, road construction or traffic infrastructure experience
• Concreting and formwork experience
• Experience constructing kerbs, ramps and footpaths highly desirable
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Willingness and availability to work predominantly night shift

Desirable Tickets & Qualifications

• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• MR or HR Driver's Licence
• Traffic Control or Traffic Management qualifications
• Plant tickets such as excavator, skid steer or EWP
• First Aid Certificate
• Experience working around live traffic environments

Hours & Travel

The role will predominantly operate Sunday to Thursday, 6:00pm–2:30am, with day shift hours of 6:30am–3:30pm where required. The roster operates on a 9-day fortnight.

Living away from home may occasionally be required, generally no longer than one week at a time, approximately every 6 weeks to 2 months.

Required PPE: Safety boots, reflective pants and long-sleeve hi-vis reflective shirt.
