A regional council in Queensland is seeking a Labourer for Construction & Maintenance to assist in road maintenance and construction activities. The role involves operating machinery and performing physically demanding tasks. Candidates must be physically fit and able to work in hot and humid conditions. This permanent full-time position offers competitive benefits, including 5 weeks of annual leave and additional allowances.

Our Labourer Construction & Maintenance provides excellent labouring skills to assist with a variety of road maintenance and construction activities within the works section of Council. The work includes operating mobile plant and performing manual handling tasks. Maintenance of a safe working environment and application of correct manual handling techniques are essential requirements for this position.
The role involves physically demanding work to be undertaken in a hot and humid climate on a daily basis. As such, it is the responsibility of our Labourer Construction & Maintenance to ensure they are physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks. This includes a requirement to maintain their weight at or below the Safe Working Load (SWL) for the seat of the machinery and equipment they will be required to operate.
The role is physically demanding and requires you to be physically fit and will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
